India, election and covid

The situation amid the crisis

A sight of devastation

India was never free from this deadly virus. Though the rate decreased a little for a few months. But the government cannot be held responsible alone. Its not possible for the government to cope with such situation if the people doesn’t take their responsibility . As soon as the number decreased the people started behaving carelessly. People even stopped wearing masks, using sanitizers and even stopped social distancing.

The pubs, malls etc. opened on full swing, and people forgot to maintain the protocols. Marriage ceremonies were held in different parts of the country without any restriction. Concerts and public gatherings were numerous.

The sudden surge in the cases created havoc in the country. The country is facing huge turmoil. states like Delhi, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh has been worst hit by the second wave.

There are reports of frontline workers like doctors and other health workers loosing there lives. But they are giving their best for saving the lives. Another crisis faced in this situation has been the lack of oxygen. Many of the patients are dying due to insufficient oxygen in the country. Some doctors advised patients to stay at home, while a crematorium in the eastern city of Muzaffarpur said it was being overwhelmed with bodies, and grieving families had to wait their turn. A crematorium east of Delhi built funeral pyres in its parking lot.

There is lack of bed, oxygen running out and a huge spike in cases. The people are blaming the government and the government is giving excuses for the failed system. But the blame cannot be put to only a few, the whole country is accountable for this unfathomable condition. https://www.reuters.com/world/india/india-records-biggest-ever-rise-coronavirus-cases-anywhere-world-2021-04-22/

This is not the end. The HC of madras held the Election commission responsible for the sudden outbreak and it cannot be ignored. The huge rallies and gatherings was a huge risk factor. And the commission has not objected to any of the situation so far. The biggest democracy has not stopped fighting for its power even in times of such situation. The rallies were held in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal amid this huge crisis.

The country is, however, having a ray of hope as the government is trying its level best to install oxygen plants in the country.

Moreover many countries are coming together for help as a friend in time of this crisis. Support packages are being received from nearly 40 countries such as Russia, US, UK and many more. The vaccine drive is also going on a huge scale in the country and above 18 vaccines are also made available. But due to the abundant number of people in the country the situation would take time to cope up. https://www.hindustantimes.com/india-news/over-40-countries-to-help-india-in-fight-against-covid-foreign-secy-101619693442573.html

As the country have to tackle the situation now so it will be better if the country stop blaming the government and start maintains the protocols for the sake of the society at large and for their own near and dear ones. Its high time for people to understand the seriousness of the situation as the education system, the health infrastructure, the lives of thousands are at stake.

STAY HOME ,STAY SAFE.
